"Life" Books,  Jesus,  Let's be Real,  Pass it On...

committing the mundane to the Always Listening God

What day is it? What month is it? I continue to find myself asking myself these questions lately. I struggle to come up with words that seem to be on the tip of my tongue, yet my brain slams on brakes because hasn’t quite completed the thought process. Many things to do, everything keeps coming and piling up, and my head is like a fish bowl with words and pictures all scrambled together. So much so that I lose my words.

Have you ever had a day, week, or season(s) of life like this?

I’ve shared that I pray, “Jesus I need you, I need you now,” many days when I either have no other words, or just simply can’t get more out than that. Another prayer that I like to pray comes from 2 Chronicles 20:12: “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” The prayers we pray while doing the mundane things, matching socks, stirring oatmeal, reading books, these are some of the best and most honest prayers. Praying for the child or the adult who will wear, eat, or read seems very small, but the size doesn’t matter- the God who knows all and sees all, hears it all- that’s the only thing that matters!

This is a short post, but I challenge you to pray those one word, two word, sentence prayers. Set an example and pray them out loud in front of family and friends, especially children. Children need to know we cry out for help too!!! And they want to be included!!!
