Blanket Drop
I can’t believe I have watched the Charlie Brown Christmas and have never noticed this before. You may have already heard what seems to be going viral on social media or maybe you noticed it before it was even mentioned by anyone. Linus drops his beloved blanket as soon as he says the words, “fear not…” Now, me and Linus are connected souls, because blankets are always with me, and certain ones for certain times. I hold them, wrap up in them, carry them. So this is why I am surprised that I haven’t noticed that he completely lets go of his beloved blue blanket. But what a symbol and…

“Hope is My Favorite Thing to Have”
Let me pause before I start todays post… I must say my heart is deeply grieved for the many who have had their lives completely shattered- by violence, by policy, by “well-educated” people who have no clue what their “self-educated” counterparts are going through, by unacceptable and nasty comments and remarks. The cruelty is at a level that is beyond I could have ever imagined, and I don’t know where or when it will hit the peak for enough of us to shout STOP! So until then, I am just letting you know if you are out there thinking, “am I the only one yelling at the tv?” Let me…

Volume Up!
There are so many reasons this videos is on my phone all the time. 1. My niece is adorable. She now has much more hair than her adorable blonde strands of hair in this video. Her blue eyes have not changed, they still take my breath away, as someone once told her, “I can see the ocean in your eyes.” And of course, she still can give us this “sneaky” look/laugh once in a while. 😉 2. You can hear my mom, my Paw-Paw, and I laughing. The best laugh in the background is my Paw-Paw’s. Of course none of us knew at the time what the months ahead held,…

Simple Christmas
Simple: not complicated; not demanding; manageable. I can say, with a grateful heart, that my Christmas this year was simple. Simple in the ways listed above. On this side of heaven it will never be “simple” in the way of easy; painless; or absent of grief. I will always long for that first Christmas morning with my own little girl. And all the other times I will continue to grieve this side of heaven. However, her name, Lucy, was spoken. Her name was written on packages, in the “From” and “To” spots along with mine. Her ornaments were hung along with all the others. She was remembered and held close.…

Christmas Babies
For me there is nothing that can touch the feeling of watching the watching the wonder of Christmas in a little child’s eyes! They embody the joy we are to embrace, the excitement of anticipation, the awe of the simplicity and humbleness of the true meaning of Christmas. I may be a little bias to “Christmas babies,” or December babies, because I am one and so is my nephew. But there is something so special about a newborn baby at Christmas. Holding a Miracle. Embracing and studying their tiny attributes. I believe is holy. And of course, as the picture today shows, every year there is more and more twinkle…

A Love Breaks Through
Talk about a winter the world had never known, Talk about a silence that hardened up the soil; No more life left in Eden, but You knew the time would come... 'Cause You were growing up a family that You would call your own, And through a fragile people the Light of Life would come, And when it seemed like we'd never see Sprint, Heaven gave a King! Like an Amaryllis, blooming a Christmas, When everything was cold and dark Your love broke through and You shined With the brilliance of summer, Right in the middle of winter! You came surprising the night, Like a Christmas Amaryllis... Here I am…

Everyone Needs to be Held
Winter. What are the things that come to mind without a second thought? Take a minute and make note of these things. Personally, I am a cold-weather (some may see as obnoxious) lover! The way I see it is, if you’re cold you can put more layers on. But when you’re hot, there is only so many layers this world will allow you to take off. And when you are someone who can wear shorts and a t-shirt most of the year and still be warm, the cold is a wonderful gift! 😊 So this is the first thing that comes to mind for me! RELIEF 💕 The Christmas Season!…

Can I get a Hallelujah?
“We are dazzled by arrays of Christmas lights. In recent years, seeing them through the eyes of my two young children has awakened something in me I’d lost to the subtle and insidious cynicism that often sets in with age: longing. Light is a wonderment because of its promise that there’s something brilliant veiled behind the darkness, waiting to be found, pulsing with life, on the brink of unfolding before us.” Jay Y. Kim, The Promised One: Advent Readings From Christianity Today 2022 I read this earlier this week, and I said, aloud to myself, “YES! That’s it!” Children are our magnificent examples of these words! If we only slow…

Swaddled No More!!!
Words we hear around Christmas: Longing. Expecting. Arrival. Welcoming. Receiving. Giving. These words have me really digging and searching this Christmas season. I’m not completely sure why, but I have a couple of thoughts, and I would just like to share them with you today. The picture for today’s post is the Christmas BEFORE Lucy arrived. I know I know, crazy prepared, maybe, but she was set for about five or six Christmas’s and birthdays 😊 That was IF i could keep it all out of reach 😂! (this was the “scene” for around 4 Christmas before she arrived). The “stuff” is not the point of what I am wanting…
