"Life" Books,  Let's be Real

Moving… Not My Finest

As I sit and type this, I am surrounded by packed and unpacked boxes. Many items to be put up. Last night I went to bed at midnight, and if you know me, this was WAY past my bedtime! My body is screaming, “Are we done yet?” “Can’t we just give it all away?!?” Yes, and I would definitely do so, if it was acceptable to wear pjs everywhere I went and lived in a children’s book library 😊 But that’s not the case. So in the spirit of trying to find the thread of humor in everything, here are a few things that I have found humorous so far: 1. Last night I went to take a bath – we have been in a hotel for over a month, but for the last week, we had to change rooms due to having to extend our stay, and we only had a shower. I was so excited! Ran the water. Just before I stepped in, I realized that a towel would probably be a good idea to have when taking a bath. So I dipped my feet in for a few minutes. Sheesh! Gotta find those today! 2. As I was unboxing this morning, I look in the tub and see my footprints. I guess even soaking them didn’t do the trick! I will have to scrub them good next bath 😂 3. When I was at a breaking point this morning, I looked up and my sign “I need you Jesus, I need you NOW!” right in my line of vision. Tears, laughter, peace all hit at once. What a Father, that he reminds us that when we are at our weakest, he is still here holding us. He has to be, because there is no other way this body of my hasn’t completely broke yet. I am aching in places I didn’t even know there were muscles to ache.

I can’t wait to tell you more about living in a hotel, unlike what Eloise or the Suite Life have conveyed. And I look forward to sharing why we moved and why I hope this will be the very last. 😉
